Kris Jenner Sheryl Underwood Talking

Big changes are headed to daytime: CBS is expected to announce not-so-conservative Republican comic Sheryl Underwood and Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner as the new co-hosts of the its midday talker, The Talk (also known in some circles as “The Poor Man’s View”), Deadline.com gabbed on Friday.

The pair will replace exiting gabbers Leah Remini and Holly Robinson-Peete.

This casting shakeup follows months of apparent behind-the-scenes drama. Sara Gilbert, one of the creators of the show, and Julie Chen are still on board in front of the camera, but the latter, the wife of CBS President Len Moonves and host of CBS’ Big Brother, is rumored to have been too overbearing behind the scenes, prompting tension between the ladies.

And ultimately forcing Leah and Holly out the door.

Sharon Osbourne, who has said that she wants to scale back her appearances on the show, will also return this fall.

While Jenner is best known as the money-grubbin’ socialite mama of the Kardashian Klan, Underwood, an ex-member of the Armed Forces and former staple on the Tom Joyner Morning Show and Jamie Foxx’s Sirius XM satellite radio, is noted for her work as a no-holds-barred stand-up comic. She’s been tickling funnybones on stage since the early ’90s. Sheryl now serves as a weekly contributor on the nationally-syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show. Underwood likes to call herself “a sexually progressive, God-fearing Black Republican.”
