Lea Michele Get Charice Kicked Off Glee

Uh-Oh — those “Lea Michele is a ‘Melrose Place’ Superdiva!” have resurfaced. Wasn’t it kind of strange how FOX and Team Glee made a huge deal out of Filipina powerhouse Charice joining the show’s second and then she was only in, like, two episodes? Production insiders reckon they can explain the mystery: basically, it’s because Lea wasn’t having it.

Charice joined the show at the start of its second season, performing a rendition of the Lady Gaga/Beyonce hit “Telephone” alongside Lea. She was scheduled to appear several more times — till the Broadway alum (apparently) demanded that her role be scaled back.

“Charice was signed for a minimum of five episodes and did a press junket with [fellow new star] Chord Overstreet,” an unnamed source blabbed to The New York Post’s Page Six Column Tuesday. “She had a big debut, but things changed and they didn’t put her back in. The word is, Lea is the big star, and producers want to keep her happy.”

A Glee spokesperson denies the rumor; the show claims that Charice’s tinier-than-expected role was “due to her busy schedule.”
