Selena Gomez Cool with Justin Bieber, Sean Kingston Friendship

Sean Kingston has rubbished a UK tabloid report that Selena Gomez has reservations about her boyfriend Justin Bieber's friendship with him.

Sean, 21, appeared on KIIS FM radio show "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" on Tuesday, August 16 and Ryan Seacrest quizzed him about the report.

"No. It's a rumor," Sean said emphatically.

"The first thing I will say, no offense to Selena, but I knew Justin before. He came to me a was like 'Yo, what do you think about the relationship.' So, I'm like a big bro mentor to him. The media takes things and they roll with it. I was just with Selena the other day at the Teen Choice Awards, we hung out, it was cool, it was all love," he added.

Earlier this month, The Sun reported that Selena and Justin had split after rowing over Justin's friendship with Sean who spent 21 days in jail at the age of 11 for burglary.

Speaking with Ryan, Sean also detailed the sequence of events that led to his nasty jet skiing accident on May 29, 2011 in Miami Beach.

"We were riding around for a good 30 minutes before the accident happened. I live on an island in Miami, so it has a bridge where you can ride under. I was trying to make it under the bridge, but because the tide got so high I couldn't make it under the bridge. I was going like 40 miles per hour. I tried to slow down and turn and it just didn't happen, I hit the bridge."

Sean was knocked out unconscious and went into the water face down. Luckily for him, a former marine vacationing with his family was there to pull him out.

Sean was evacuated to intensive care in hospital with a fractured wrist, broken jaw and a lot of water in the lungs, but made a good recovery.

Before he left the hospital, he had another health scare; a ruptured aorta, which proves fatal in 90% cases.

"They were going to release me, but then I felt a sharp pain around by my heart, it just didn't feel normal. Every time I would turn it was just stabbing me. I just remember I was like,'Yo, I need somebody now.' They ran tests on me and they found out that I had a torn aorta."

Sean underwent an open heart surgery to treat the condition. He is now 95% recovered and working on his new album in Los Angeles.
