Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards will likely be the usual mix of fun, froth and controversy, but there will be at least one poignant moment when the show pays tribute to the late Amy Winehouse.
Tony Bennett, who was Amy’s last known recording partner, is slated to lead the honorarium to the fallen pop star by singing their single ‘Body and Soul,’ accompanied by video footage from their recording session. Amy’s parents may also make an appearance, but that’s unconfirmed.
The VMAs will air live from Los Angeles tonight, with Lady Gaga as the opening act and other stars such as Katy Perry, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, and Chris “How Does This Guy Still Have a Career” Brown appearing as well.
