In case you haven’t heard, socialite Kim Kardashian became Mrs. Kris Humphries at a $35 million estate in Montecito, California (the town where Oprah has a big-ass mansion) on Saturday. Sorry Fellas. The bride wore Vera Wang not once but three times throughout the evening, and guests included Carmelo Anthony and Lala Vasquez, Serena Williams, Demi Lovato, Eva Longoria, Lindsay, Ali, and Dina Lohan, Ryan Seacrest, and Mel B.
Sounds like D-list Heaven.
But get this: Kim and Kris’s wedding could be the first wedding in all the history of weddings to actually make (Read: Not Cost) money. How’d she swing it? Well…
Sin City hotspot Tao Las Vegas actually paid Kim, 30, and hoopster Kris, 26, $50,000 to host their bachelor and bachelorette parties. Other pro bono swag gifted to the newlyweds, thanks to Kim’s famous name, included $750,000 worth of catering, $400,000 worth of Perrier Jouet Champagne, $10,000 in wedding invitations, a $15,000 cake, three Vera Wang dresses to choose from (at $20,000 a pop), and a free stay at the Palazzo Hotel (at $2000 a night). The celebrity couple were given a generous discount on a $2 million engagement ring and $1 million wedding bands from Lorraine Schwartz.
But the thing that’ll really balance the books for The Kardashian Klan is the profit they’ll make from the special wedding episode of their show. Naturally, the E! Network cameras captured every moment of Kim’s special day, and the eppy is expected to pull in between $12 million and $15 million for the family and the network. The New York Post estimates that between the $15 million figure for the two-part TV special, entitled Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event, airing in October, the rumored $2.5 million sum PEOPLE Magazine has paid for exclusive rights to the wedding pics, and the whole lot of freebies means the couple will pocket about eighteen million smacks just for the honor of saying “I Do.”
