This Might Be The New Miami Marlins Logo
With a new stadium nearing completion, the soon-to-be-ex-Florida Marlins are in for some big changes, not the least of which, is apparently their new logo.
The supposed logo (pictured above), whose authenticity has neither been confirmed nor denied by the Marlins, is just lame. The Marlins have pretty decent uni's already, and this seems to be a case of fixing something that isn't broken.
For one thing, the colors are all wrong. I don't know if any of you have bagged a marlin recently, but outside of those lifeless, taxidermied, mail-order fish you find hung in the lobbies of cheap hotels, there isn't a lot of color overlap between this logo and those of an actual marlin.
A new stadium and a new logo may not be enough to fill seats for a Florida franchise that couldn't cultivate a fan base if they changed their name to "The Florida Free Base" and handed out crack to the first 500 fans that showed up to each game.
It's a shame, too. More often than not, they're a fun team to watch.
One franchise that has taken a throwback approach with their new logo and absolutely nailed it, is the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Jays have long been one of the more stylish teams in the Majors, and this logo is just another in a long line of uniform successes that baseball's only Canadian club has come up with.
The new Marlins logo is set to be officially revealed on November 11th.
