Lady Gaga Makeup-Free in Bazaar Magazine

She’s usually shroud under a cloth of three-inch-thick costume makeup and disguised as some variation of cookie, cold cut, or cupcake. So imagine how shocked we were to find Lady Gaga showing off her true “Poker Face” by posing basically barefaced on the cover of the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar. Gaga is the au naturel cover girl for the mag’s October issue, wearing absolutely no make-up whatsoever.

Don’t be alarmed, Little Monsters. The 25-year-old assures us that even when her skin is wiped clean, she’s still crazy as a bat.

“Whether I’m wearing lots of makeup or no makeup, I’m always the same person inside,” the much-lauded multi-Grammy winner tells the mag. “I think what’s been lovely about my relationship with the public is that they expect something unexpected from me…I’m very free-spirited. Even when I was a kid, I used to run around naked with the babysitter, driving her crazy.

Gaga also spoke to the mag about her fitness regime and it sounds like Mother Monster is a bit of a workout fiend.

“I do yoga, I do Bikram and I run, and I eat really healthy. You know, my work sort of feeds me. I keep in shape by working hard.”

These days, Gaga’s taken up an unlikely means of staying in shape: Surfing. The outre pop songstress rode her first wave during a two-day vacation to Mexico in August: “I fell off a lot in the beginning, but one of the surfers said to me, ‘Now that you can stand up, just look into the future and enjoy the ride.’ I thought that was an interesting metaphor about life.”

The October issue of Harper’s Bazaar hits newsstands Sept. 27.

Anne Hathaway is taking the high road about her ill-feated Oscar co-hosting stint with James Franco. The awkward duo received one of the worst critic thrashing to date when they stood in as emcees of Hollywood’s biggest night last winter.

“In the grand scheme of things, I got to have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Anne tells Harper’s Bazaar Magazine August issue, on newsstands July 12. “I met great people, wore beautiful clothes. And I got to put on a show. I don’t see a downside. Anyone who disliked my personality probably disliked my personality before the Oscars.”

Hathaway On Boyfriend Adam Shulman: “So far, it’s worked out great. Which has its wonderful side, of course, but also it was exhausting, and sometimes it would freak me out. Mellow doesn’t always make for a good story, but it makes for a good life.”

On Working Out: “I’ve always thought that skinny was the goal, but with this job I also have to be strong,” says Hathaway, who is rigorously preparing for her role as Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s Batman: The Dark Knight Rises by working out five days a week and an hour and a half of dance.

On Fashion: Anne “feels like the luckiest girl in the world when I get to wear all these glamorous clothes,” but away from the red carpet, she’s more of a t-shirt and jeans kinda girl.

Professionally, Britney Spears has a lot to feel good about: Her new album, Femme Fatale, is receiving the best reviews of her almost-20-year career and the Femme Fatale hitmaker has landed a cover spot on the July issue of Harper’s Bazaar, on newsstands May 31. In front of the lens, the pop tart opens up about her career, preparing for her upcoming summer tour with femcee Nicki Minaj, and whether or not she’ll take a third trip down the aisle with boyfriend Jason Trawick.

“I’ve worked so hard on this album, so it’s really refreshing,” the ‘Til the World Ends” singer began, listing Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, and Rihanna as some of her musical influences.

On How Being a Mom Affected How She Approaches Her Career: “I think things through a little bit more, and I worry a lot. I’m more straightforward, and I speak up more than I did before. When I was younger, I wouldn’t speak up as much, but now that I’m a mom, things have changed.”

On Preparing for her upcoming Femme Fatale Tour: “I love to dance, so it’s very exciting. The tour rehearsals have been going really well. I think it will be my best show yet.”

On Justin Bieber: “I think he’s adorable,” Spears gushed. “I just saw his movie, and I really didn’t realize how big he was. He’s enormous; he’s just Mr. Man. A lot of the movie is really similar to what I did when i was starting out. I did a promo tour for a year, going into radio stations and all that. It was so cool to see our similarities.”

On Getting Married Again and Having More Children: “I’ve thought about both. So if the timing was right…”

What don’t people know about you? “I’m pretty normal, you know? Like I said, the type of day I love is just like everybody else’s. I’m like everybody else.”
