Christina Aguilera Hits Back At Child Abuse Claims

A lawyer for Christina Aguilera has threatened legal action against gossip website MediaTakeOut.com after the celebrity snitches published a photo accusing the singer of beating her son.

Earlier this week, the site of the 30-year-old songstress holding her three-year-old son Max, who appeared to be sporting a black eye. The article was accompanied by the headline: “CHILD ABUSE????? CHRISTINA AGUILERA’S SON IS PHOTO’D WITH A BLACK EYE!!!”

Needless to say, Christina’s lawyer was a little less than impressed.

In a letter to the site, the singer’s attorney, Eric Greenspan, wrote: “To imply that she had something to with this incident, without any investigations on your part whatsoever, is reckless and unconsciable. Christina is a wonderful mother and was not present in the park when Max fell and hurt himself.”

The letter continued: “We thought it might be productive for you to read Joe Welch’s admonition to Senator Joe McCarthy at the end of the Senate hearings. Hopefully you will learn something from this. Here is what was said and a link to it is provided: ‘Until this moment, Senator, I think I have never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness… If it were in my power to forgive you for your reckless cruelty I would do so. I like to think that I am a gentle man but your forgiveness will have to come from someone other than me… Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency…’We reserve all our client’s legal and equitable remedies for this reputable disparagement of our client’s character. As set forth above, HAVE YOU NO SHAME!!!!!!!!”

Greenspan also spoke to entertainment news website, EntertainmentWeekly.com, about the incident.

“There are lines you are not supposed to cross, and that’s one of them,” he said.

Aguilera has struggled to control her alcohol intake in recent months, but by all accounts is a good mother. Should she be given the benefit of the doubt?

A source told Us Magazine that the tot fell while chasing squirrels at the park.

“Max is a happy playful and active boy who has a loving and safe home,” said the source.

MediaTakeOut.com has since taken down the story.
