Levi Johnston Drops Out Of Wasilla Mayoral Race

Levi Johnston is “too busy” to run for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska — the hometown of his baby mama Bristol Palin and her mother, political maverick Sarah Palin– The Associated Press said Tuesday.

We know it’s disappointing, but try to contain yourselves.

The 21-year-old Playgirl centerfold infuriated his former future in-laws when he announced his plans to run for Palin’s old office last August. He even filing a letter of intent to run for “state or municipal office” with the Alaska Public Offices Commission. And

Johnston promptly entered talks to have his campaign chronicled in a reality TV series titled Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor’s Office.

Alas, it was not to be. Johnston’s manager, Tank Jones, says America’s Most Famous Young Dad decided not to run because he “doesn’t want the office of the mayor to be a joke and so he’s not going to do it right now.”

“There are a lot of issues that he would need to study up on and he thinks that this isn’t the right time for him to be mayor now,” Jones explained.

Instead, the avid hunter is focusing on Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs. The book, which chronicles Johnston’s dealings with The Palin Family, follows Bristol’s June memoir, My Journey So Far, in which she blasted her high school sweetheart for getting her drunk and taking her virginity after she blacked out. Levi’s tome is set for a Sept. 20 release.
