Kate Gosselin and her great eight aren’t the only ones being booted from TLC’s airwaves. Another show is also getting the axe from the network — Kat Von D’s LA INK will air its final broadcast on Sept. 15.
What a year its been for the flaming redhead. First, Kat lost her home and cat in a devastating house fire. Then, her romance with Jesse James came to a screeching halt. (Supposedly due to long distance…) And now her reality series has hit the chopping block too. Season Four of Ink has been especially tough for the inked-up makeup aficionado; particularly since it largely focused on her relationship with the philandering tattoo enthusiast and their wedding plans. Things got off to a bumpy start for the series last month when a livid Kat stormed off the set of Good Day L.A. after hosts of the West Coast breakfast show made the mistake of mentioning her hours-old breakup with Jesse during a commercial promo.
“Dear GoodDayLA, thanks for the waste of a perfectly good morning. Lack of compassion n respect for each other never fails to dissapoint [sic] me,” Kat, 29, Tweeted following the incident.
“The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D’s journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles. The series finale will air Sept. 15 at 10 PM,” TLC said in a statement Tuesday.
Kat’s cancellation comes just days after the network announced that it was pulling the plug on Kate Plus Eight, a one-time ratings winner that had called TLC home since 2007.
