Goodbye Billy Bush. Hello Mario Lopez. Just in case you haven’t heard, entertainment journalist Maria Menounos will be taking her Celebrity Goss Gawkin’ talents to Extra this fall, ending a six year run at rival syndicated gabfest Access Hollywood. The Po’ Man’s Mary Hart is signing a multi-year deal with Telepictures to serve as Extra co-host alongside former teen heartthrob Mario Lopez when the show returns for an 18th season Sept. 12.
Per her new deal, Maria will also tackle on-air duties for Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers, a new show starring Dr. Drew Pinsky that is set to debut on The CW on Sept. 19. She’ll also develop new projects for Telepictures that will allow her to serve as host and executive producer.
Menounos is perhaps best known for interviewing then presidential hopeful Barack Obama and his family for an Access segment in the summer of 2008.
