The set of the bloody Showtime series Dexter has become a battleground in the War of Roses raging between Michael C. Hall and his estranged wife/on-screen sister Jennifer Carpenter. In news that should surprise (Drumroll, puhleeze…) absolutely no one, the exes are no longer on speaking terms — and Hall’s rumored romance with a staffer 15 years his junior certainly hasn’t helped matters.
A wife and a girlfriend sharing the same workplace? Awkward!
Loose-lipped squeals say the Emmy winner, who beat a battle with cancer last year,been secretly dating Vanessa Abrue.
“No one would ever suspect these two were together because she isn’t what anyone would expect Michael to be with,” says an insider. “They hardly go out together but when they do it’s always with a group of people so no one would suspect he’s with someone.”
Another source close to the pair believes Hall was just “going through a midlife crisis dating a twentysomething.”
As for Carpenter and Hall, yet another insider tells The National Enquirer that: “They talk as little as possible while they are filming scenes together and then avoid each other like the plague the rest of the time.”
