Sonakshi Sinha Time for Films

Dismissing reports that she and Ranveer Singh are an item, Sonakshi Sinha says she is single by choice and has time just for films.

In an interview with Mid Day, Sonakshi also lays into her detractors who have been suggesting that she is losing film roles because of weight issues, reminding them that she is signed up for six films!

Asked if Ranveer Singh had ever asked her out on a date, Sonakshi said, "No he hasn't. I have met him very few times at award functions and we have done a photo shoot together. That's about it."

Sonakshi and Ranveer sparked dating rumors after making laudatory comments about each other to the press.

Asked why she hadn't hooked up with Ranveer, now that he is single after having broken up with Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi said, "I am single by choice. I really have no time for men."

So is there any truth to the rumor that Anushka Sharma and Ranveer split because of Sonakshi's proximity with Ranveer?

"It is a very silly rumor. I have no proximity with him," replied Sonakshi.

Sonakshi denied that she and Ranveer are set to co-star in a film.

"Nothing has come along yet, but I would like to work with him."

Katrina Kaif Delights on Set of 'India's Got Talent'

Katrina Kaif brought the house down enacting Dharmendra's famous suicide scene from Sholay while plugging her film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan on set of India's Got Talent in Mumbai on Saturday, September 3.

She later cavorted with the veteran actor to the beats of the hit song 'Dream Girl' from a yesteryear film headlining him.

The 27-year-old actress was accompanied to the show by Mere Brother Ki Dulhan co-stars Imran Khan and Ali Zafar.

Katrina wore a blush pink top and black skinny jeans, a repeat dress from an event that she attended earlier in the evening: the music launch of Main Krishna Hoon.

She accessorized with black ankle cuff flats with braided cross straps, drop earrings and a long lariat necklace.

Her side parted hair, styled in soft waves, draped her shoulders. Mascara coated lashes, shimmering pink lipgloss and pink rouge rounded her alluring looks.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is due in theaters on September 9.

Priyanka Chopra Sizzler at Agneepath Promo Launch

Priyanka Chopra made us drool in a pink one shoulder dress at the launch of the theatrical trailer for her new film Agneepath in Mumbai on Monday, August 29.

The 29-year-old actress was accompanied to the event by co-stars Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor, producer Karan Johar and director Karan Malhotra.

Priyanka bucked the current Bollywood trend of lead stars dressing in character while plugging their films.

Going by her makeover in the Agneepath theatrical trailer, she should have been wearing a sari, but she opted to torment us in a knee length cocktail dress, cinched at the waist with a self tie.

She accessorized with gunmetal peeptoe slingbacks, stud earrings and a steel strap watch on her left hand wrist.

Her hair was styled in a shoulder draping wavy ponytail with a teased top; middle parted bangs framed her face. Fanned eyelashes and matte pink lipstick rounded her gorgeous look for the sultry monsoon afternoon.

Talking about her role of Kaali in the film, Priyanka said, "Its a really interesting role for me, completely different from what was in the earlier Agneepath."

Sonam Kapoor in Formals Plugging Mausam

Sonam Kapoor ravished in a white Fendi top and black Balenciaga crepe volume trousers at Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM Studios to plug her film Mausam on Thursday, August 25.

Her short sleeve silk top had a sharp collar and pleated detail to the front. Her slim leg trousers had Cross over pleated front and detachable suspenders left hanging to the sides.

The 26-year-old actress rocked exquisite accessories that included a Grey leather Reed Krakoff Boxer tote accented with croc leather straps, croc print pumps, a gold cuff in her left arm and aqua heart earrings by Aquamarine of Mumbai.

Her waist length dark hair was styled half up half down with bottom curls. She wore cat eyeliner, bold blush and pink lip gloss with metallic sheen.

Sonam and her co-star Shahid Kapoor kicked off film's promotions on August 23 with an appearance on Amitabh Bachchan hosted TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Sonam describes her new film as:

"Mausam is a beautiful story about an extraordinary love between two people."

The film will have its world premiere on September 14 during the Toronto International Film Festival. Sonam and Shahid will attend along with director Pankaj Kapoor who is also Shahid's father. There will be total of three screenings during the festival - September 14, 15 and the 16th.

The film bows in theaters on September 16.

Vidya Balan Shows the Goods in 'Dirty Picture'

We always suspected it, now the first look poster of Dirty Picture confirms it – the day Vidya Balan decided to look hot, she would incinerate.

The poster has the film's three headlining male stars – Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor - swooning over Balan, decolletage et al, but she looks at ease, and perfectly plays the tease (rhyme intented), appearing more tickled than impassioned, particularly by Shah kiss on her neck.

Balan plays the protagonist in the Silk Smitha biopic and while she may not carry the load on her chest that Smitha did, we suspect she will put more load on the chest of her men in the film than the south hottie ever did in real life.

Balan is widely regarded as Bollywood's most formidable talent powerhouse with good reason.

The film directed by Milan Luthria (Once Upon a Time in Mumbai) releases in theaters on December 2.

Salman Khan And Katrina Kaif Always Be Good Friends

Salman Khan's relationship with Katrina Kaif may not be romantic anymore, but it remains enduring.

The two stars are currently working together in Yash Raj Films' Ek Tha Tiger.

In an interview with the TOI, Salman was quizzed about his on set equation with his former girlfriend.

"We are still really good friends. Always have been, always will be and that's the reason I am doing Ek Tha Tiger. If I'd refused the film or she'd refused the film then that would have been a problem," he said.

Also during the interview, Salman dismissed a suggestion that Sonakshi Sinha and Asin had become sought after stars because of their association with him.

"They're very talented and that's why they are where they are," said Salman.

He hadn't cast them in his films to give them a push, but because he needed their talent.

The "need was ours, mine, to cast Sonakshi in Dabangg or Asin in Ready," he added..

Salman denied that he and Sanjay Dutt had fought during a recent party, as reported by a section of the media.

"Sanju and I are like brothers and we both got to know of this in the morning. The next day we shot for Big Boss," he said.

Salman Khan to Undergo Treatment in London

Salman Khan is reportedly suffering from sciatica, and is planning to go to London for detailed investigation of his condition.

"There are days when bhai cannot shoot because of severe pain in the legs and lower back," a source told DNA.

Sciatica is caused by a prolapsed intervertebral disk pressing on the sciatic nerve, and results in pain extending from the hip down the back of the thigh and surrounding area.

The hunky 45-year-old star has toned down his gym sessions, especially workouts involving muscles below the torso.

He is just working on the torso because he needs to shoot. His dance steps have been minimized and he is not shooting for a dance sequence right now," the source explains.

According to the DNA source, Salman plans to fly to London for a week for investigations.

"He needs to go through a detailed therapy and for that he would have to stay at the facility for a few days," the source says.

"His secretary is now busy juggling his dates as several movies are in the offing," the source adds.

Preity Zinta looked a stunner in a strapless LBD at a presser to announce her new show - UP Close And Personal with Preity Zinta - at Hotel Westin in Goregaon, Mumbai on Friday, August 19.

Preity Zinta Talking To Men

In the wake of her break-up with businessman Ness Wadia followed by fresh link-ups with cricketers and corporates, actress Preity Zinta is feeling “dull” about her personal life and is “scared” of talking to men.

“Right now I am balancing my professional life only. I don’t have a personal life. I have stopped talking to anybody because I am scared that I might get linked with them. Now I have stopped talking to men… I tell them go away please… bring your wife along with you,” Preity said.



When asked about how she feels about it, the bubbly actress said, “yeah… absolutely dull”.



Preity and the Bombay Dyeing heir broke up in 2009. As of now the duo share only a professional relationship as partners of their IPL team, Kings X1 Punjab.



In the recent past, rumours had it that Preity had gone on a secret date with her former team player and Australian fast-bowler Brett Lee at a nightspot in Mumbai.



According to the Bollywood grapevine, the 36-year-old actress was also cosying up to cricketer Yuvraj Singh.

“My poor Brett Lee… he worked with us for three years and the one time I was talking to him over dinner I got linked with him. The dinner was never between him and me, it was between a friend and me and he happened to come there and say hello. Akshay Kumar Raps to the Insanely Zesty

Akshay Kumar features in a rap song, Shera Di Kaum Punjabi, for the upcoming film 'Breakaway.'

Produced by Akshay Kumar and Paul Gross, the Indo-Canadian film directed by Robert Lieberman packages Bollywood glamor to western sensibilities.

Three versions of the film are planned in English, Hindi and Punjabi. It will be released in India under the title 'Speedy Singh'

The film headlines Vinay Virmani, Russell Peters, Anupam Kher, Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi and Noureen Dewulf, with Rob Lowe and Camilla Belle.

Set in suburban Toronto, the film tracks a young man (Vinay Virmani) struggling between traditional Indo-Canadian family expectations and his dreams of hockey stardom. Camilla Belle plays the female lead alongside Vinay, and Anupam Kher plays Vinay's father, who is opposed to his son's pursuit of a hockey career and wants him to devote his life to his religion and family business instead.

Shahid Kapoor Gets Busted Playing Spy

Shahid Kapoor got busted as he tried to sneak out dressed incognito from PVR Cinemas in Juhu, Mumbai on Tuesday, August 15, after watching Aarakshan.

He was stealthily attired, shadow in the night style, in black hoodie jacket, sweatpants and sneakers.

His younger brother Ishaan, best pal, choreographer and filmmaker Ahmed Khan, and Ahmed's wife were with him.

When busted, Shahid spiritedly gave our photog a thumbs up.

Shahid and his Mausam co-star Sonam Kapoor kicked off promotions for their film today.

Around noon today, Sonam tweeted:

"First day promoting #mausum one on one print interviews uber excited."

Mausam will premiere on September 14 at the 36th Toronto International Film Festival and bow in theaters world-wide on September 16.

Aamir Khan Focusing on TV Debut

Aamir Khan, who is currently filming for Reema Kagti's Next with co-stars Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor, will next focus on his upcoming TV debut.

Aamir will host a talk show to be produced be Siddharth Basu's Big Synergy that focuses on problems confronting the common man.

The show is reportedly inspired by the The Oprah Winfrey show.

Each episode will focus on an issue, injustice or a personal problem confronting a randomly selected person. It will start with a documentary on the person's life and detail the issue confronting him. Aamir will then interview the person in studio.

Aamir is expected to start filming for the show in September.

In November, when Dhoom 3 is expected to go on floor, Aamir will be required to juggle his dates between the two very demanding projects.

According to Mid Day, with Aamir's penchant for immersing himself into his projects, a postponement of Dhoom 3 may well be on the cards.

"This is Aamir's first time on television and he obviously wants nothing to go wrong. He is looking into every little detail of the show," a source tells Mid Day.

"There are many short-films and documentaries that are part of the format, so there are a lot of elements to be looked into."

The show will start airing in January 2012, with 20 or more episodes planned.

Mausam to Premiere at Toronto Film Festival

Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut Mausam, headlining Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, will premiere on September 14 at the 36th Toronto International Film Festival.

The festival runs through September 8-18.

The entire cast and crew of the film, including the headlining stars are expected to attend the premiere.

Festival co-director Cameron Bailey confirmed rumors of a Toronto premiere on August 16 with the tweet.

Mausam, a romance drama, features Shahid Kapoor as an IAF fighter pilot named Harinder Singh (Harry), and Sonam Kapoor as a Kashmiri girl named Aayat.

Supriya Pathak plays Aayat's aunt, Aditi Sharma Shahid's love interest in the first half. The film spans over 10 years, covering part of the 1990s.

Mausam bows in theaters worldwide on September 16.

Katrina Kaif Shiela Ki Jawani for the Army Jawans

Bollywood's hottest actress Katrina Kaif took a break from filming sexy item songs to kick some serious ass with Army troops deployed along the LOC.

The 27-year-old actress spent three days with the jawans (troops) of the Indian Army deployed along the LoC in in the Nowshera sub-sector in Rajouri district in the heart of Soon Valley, 130 km from Jammu. During her visit, Katrina shared meals with the troops, dressed in the camouflage fatigues and participated in various activities including firing an AK 56 rifle and playing Tug of War and Volley Ball with the jawans, much to their delight.

She rode an army bike, watched Bofors gun firing and even rubbed shoulders with battle hardened troops in a counter-insurgency training exercise

During the evenings, she mingled with the soldiers and their families, sans any starry airs.

Katrina's visit was filmed for a special edition of Jai Jawan as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
